Our goal is to provide advice and assistance to all veterans who want to work, with a job that engages them, allows them to grow and provides financial stability for them and their families.
Many veterans are challenged by the transition from the military to a civilian workplace culture. We recognize that while most veterans are interested in getting jobs quickly, many don’t have the job search skills and interviewing experience that they need. We work through our Peer Mentor team and partners to connect them with the training and opportunities that best fit their skills and career goals.
We also recognize the difficulty many employers have in attracting, hiring, on-boarding and retaining veterans that can help meet their hiring and business objectives. Talent Management teams don’t always understand how to ensure their organization appears ‘veteran friendly’ to attract the veterans they want. HR managers and recruiters don’t always understand how to interpret veteran resumes and conduct interviews in a way that allow the veteran to explain their qualifications and experience in a relevant way. First-line supervisors often struggle to integrate new veteran team members who are used to different leadership and communication styles or approach to teamwork. All of these can be overcome with a little training and practice.
To assist with this, we have conducted Veteran Employment and Transition Assistance (VETA) workshops for large groups and individual companies to help address these key barriers. Our informative and practical workshops were developed, and are conducted, by veterans who have transitioned themselves and have hired and trained veterans in companies throughout the region.
If you are interested in learning more about VETA or being connected with partners who can address specific issues and find the veterans you want to hire, join us today or provide your contact information so we can quickly respond to your questions.
